Stampin' blahs....

I need to stamp, I want to stamp.......I don't wanna stamp. Ever have those days, weeks, months?

I have lots of stamps, lots of paper, lots of inks....and a very messy and disorganized stamping area that just makes me want to scream. So that's it, huh? Clean it up and then start stamping. Easier said than done, unfortunately. Check out stamping blogs and get inspired?? Tried that, got lots of inspiration, but still can't seem to get moving....

So tell me, what's your favorite way to get rid of the stamping blahs??? Give me a winning idea that gets me going again, and I'll send you a couple sample stamps from CTMH!

Just pick a stamp, any stamp, put on some music you love and select ink and paper color you like and just do what comes naturally.

What I do is pick a challenge and start working on it. A layout challenge or a color challenge usually work for me. Sometimes I put the two of them together if I'm really stuck. Once I get going it seems the pressure is off and I start making it my own by changing things here and there. My favorite place for challenges is SplitcoastStampers. Get place for motivation. Hopes this helps.

The best motivation for me is to stamp with someone else. Whenever I get together with my mom and sister, if just one of us starts going the rest soon follow.

I also like the idea of intentionally making an ugly card. I haven't tried that one yet, but it sounds fun.

Good luck!

What I do is look through the gallery on SCS. I start with the idea of CASEing a card from someone, but something always sparks my creative juices-and I come up with an idea of my own. Good luck!

My favorite thing to do is to go to Beate's weekend sketch challenge and print out the layout. Then I go to the other gals she has listed and look at their ideas for the challenge. Finally, I look at my supplies and get motivated. Good luck on getting over the blahs.

What worked for me today was the FS challenge on SCS. Picking a challenge usually gets me going again, especially the FS on b/c it's CASEING, then I'm off and running on my own!

Here's what I do. I find a stamping challenge on someone's blog. There are lots of them out there - many offering prizes for participating. They will specify what color, technique, or stamp to use, so you don't have to decide. Make yourself do one, even if you don't want to. Every time I do this, I get my mojo back. I hope it works for you too!
Thanks!

I also have these days..I browse and browse for inspiration and still can't seem to motivate my creative juices.
So I head out to Allison's blog(stampinwhenican) and check out the sketch challenges. There's usually one that strikes my fancy..and then I pick it up from there..

Happy stamping!!

Make some inchies with your stamps. They are fast and easy and will motivate you to do more stamping.

The gallery is where I start. I look throught the uploaded today until I find one I like and I have the set. The rest of the supplies I usually have to improvise b/c I don't have a lot of punches, or I don't have prisma pencils so it gets me thinking.

I have to go clean up my stamping area. Once that is done the urge to stamp comes back quickly.

I have been going through the same thing. I went ahead and cleaned and organized my stamping room. Still felt that way. So, I took some supplies and went to my diningroom table. Boom, three cards, done!! Sometimes we just need a change of scenery to get the juices flowing. Good luck!

One thing that I do is every time I go through a magazine or see a card on the internet I save it for inspiration, I put them in notebooks and when I feel the way you do I pull the notebooks out and just page through them, sooner or later something pops out at me to play with. Good Luck,

What gets me interested is going online and checking out some sites and seeing what others are doing. Usually that starts getting me excited and I get ideas for my own crafts.

May be you can try to crop with your art friend. Sharing tips and ideas together.

Well usually I sit down with a good cardmaking book and start reading. I see so many wonderful projects that I just get the energy to go try one of the ideas. Plus, I have the book to look at so that's a great way to start a project.

What works for me is to have a friend who is NOT in the Stamping Blah mood to ignite my inspiration. She'll show me what she has been working on, and almost instantly I've got my gears rolling. Good luck!

I totally am the same and understand! I haven't stamped since Dec?? between sick and no designated stamping area for storage or to stamp... well I hate getting it all out in such a mess. I also hate pressure of challenges, swaps and deadlines.

I am little by little each day, taking one small pile to re-organize or put away in a place. this way I get to see or handle my pretty papers and rubbah! :)))

I got a new UM rubber stamp I wanted to play with...motivation.

I blog hop, and stop at interesting to me visuals... take a good look at easy projects, take 15's etc. lol. Nothing difficult.

And just decided to do some easy, fun few cards and get them out to take some joy and bring smiles to others! That was huge motivation.

I had fun, used some fun papers, my new stamp, music, chocolate, me time, and looked forward to mailing them out to others. Does that help you any???? I hope so... just do a little, an easy one, just one! and mail it out.

i wish I could REALLY give you an answer! I have had the card making blues for a few days now! I look at other peoples cards and think they are wonderful and then I try to case a card and I either don't have everything I need or it just never looks like it would in my mind! I just sit down and finally finish one... whether I really like it or not!
