Reason for the Season

I'm using this card for a workshop this weekend. I'm not 100% sure about it - my son says the dots need to go....but then maybe it's the stars. I don't know. What do you think?

The stars are embossed with cranberry embossing powder. The cardstocks used are Cranberry, Ponderosa Pine, and Ultra White. The polka dotted paper comes from the new Creative Basics - Holiday packet, along with the Cranberry ribbon.

Thank You

I cased this card from the SOM photo in the Autumn/Winter catalog - you can also see it at my CTMH
website.

I used textured Outdoor Denim cardstock and sanded it with the new sanding block - fun! I tore the edges on the Chocolate strip and added an extra little bit of vine in the lower right corner of the focal image. I decided not to use ribbon on mine. I like how it turned out! And, it was quick and easy!

Hard to say good-bye....

...to this stamp set - Frightenin' Fun. It's been one of my favorites, but has hit the retired list this year. I used our new edge distressing tool on the Black and Goldrush cardstocks - so much easier than using scissors!! My favorite touch on this one is the two stitches at the top of the image panel - I used black hemp and simply tied knots. I really like how it looks on this card!

Snow...

...don't really want snow yet, but it was fun to make this card! I used the Glistening Snow set from CTMH and papers from the Just Chillin' paper pack. The light blue cardstock is textured - I love the look and feel of it on cards! There is glitter glistening in the center of the snowflakes on the Vineyard Berry cardstock, on the snow image, and also dotting the i's. Two Vineyard Berry eyelets completed the look.

Backpack card

This is a really fun card for back-to-school time - or anytime really! I got the pattern from a magazine and changed it a little. (True confession - it used so many layers of paper that I didn't want to do it that way for my classes. Too much paper cutting!)

I used Bamboo, Autumn Terracotta, and Cocoa cardstock, and the B&T is from the Expedition paper pack. Love it!

There is even a handle at the top made from Cocoa grograin ribbon. You can add more ribbon to be the straps of the backpack, but I opted to do only the handle.

Just be yourself...

This is a 6"x6" layout using the Stamp of the Month set called Doodle Alphabet. The striped paper is from the Caprice paper pack and cardstock colors are Dutch Blue, Sweet Leaf, and chocolate. I used one of the new little distressing ink cubes that CTMH now carries - worked great! I really like those little cubes for direct-to-paper distressing.

So glad it's Friday, it's been a LONG week. I wish you all a great weekend. Have fun, and just be yourself!

What a wonderful world...

...because you are in it!

This sweet and simple card is one I am offering at my classes and workshops this month. It is a 4-3/4"x3" card. I am really starting to love these B&T papers. They are from one of the new scrapbooking kits from CTMH - Caprice. And I just couldn't resist adding a spiral clip and a knot of organdy ribbon for the finishing touch.

First blog, first post

I have seen so many fun blogs lately, that I decided it was time to jump in with both feet and start one of my own. I love to stamp and I love sharing the fun, too. I am a Consultant with Close to My Heart, so most of what you see here will be made with CTMH products - my favorite.

I've been stamping for over 16 years. One of my best and dearest friends introduced me to the love of papercrafting and my life hasn't been the same since!

I'm hoping that this blog will help inspire me to stamp a little every day. It's wonderful therapy, you know! So come on....whatcha stamping today?
