I've been busy....

...getting pampered for my birthday! It was a crazy week, and then I was surprised on Friday afternoon by the arrival of my good friend, Amy. She had driven across the state all day and got here just after I picked up my daughter from school to surprise me for my birthday! On Friday night, we went out for manicures and pedicures. Then on Saturday morning, we got up and she whisked me out of the house to go to a lovely day-spa for facials, massages, and I got to have my hair colored and cut!! I feel like a whole new me! It was a lovely day of being totally spoiled.

After that, I thought she had to leave right away and we had to go to a "Christmas" party at my sister-in-law's. Turns out it was a surprise birthday party with lots of friends and family there! I, of course, burst into totally surprised tears in front of everyone - sheesh. My friend was there, too, who I thought I'd just said good-bye to - she did leave soon after that, to get home for her darling daughters' piano recitals.

I was completely surprised - everyone thought that was pretty funny!

Here's a pic of me with my new hair - wish you could see the beautiful highlights that are in it, but they don't show. I'm so happy to have my gray covered up, and I don't look nearly as old as I did before!!! I'm excited to be 40 now!!

Blog Candy winners!!!

So my birthday is on December 19th! Just next week - yippee! Do you remember when you were a kid and 40 seemed so OLD?? Man, I don't feel old at all! I think I'm going to love 40 - of course it would be better if I didn't have so much gray hair already! I've been looking at it and I think it's time to fix that!!!

It was fun to see all the other December birthdays out there. I wish each of you a very happy birthday! I hope you have (or had) a great day! God bless you!

And soooooooo......the winners with the correct answer of December 19th are:
Tejal and foodpartyfun (Pat)! So please email me at kellywestlund@yahoo.com and let me know how I can send something to you. And Pat, happy birthday! I'll think of you on our special day!!

So sorry....I lied!!

Sunday was such a crazy day. As the Children's Education Assistant at my church, I am also the director of the Children's Christmas program. Our program was Sunday afternoon. I got distracted after my post and then had to whisk off to the program. It went so well! I was SO proud of all those wonderful kids at our church. They did a fabulous job and all the parents and grandparents and friends really enjoyed it! I was proud of my own two kids, but I could have just hugged the entire group over and over afterwards. =0)

Anyway......look to the next post for the winners! I finally decided I couldn't just pick one, so I will send a little something to both people with the correct answer!

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Last of the Snow Friends cards....

...Here they are, the last of the bunch. I have had so much fun with this set. Can't believe it's time for another Stamp of the Month set - but the December set will be fun, too! (And hopefully, I'll get a chance to play with it this week!)

Anyway, these cards are made with the Petal, Twilight, and Sweet Leaf combo. Love those colors together!

This one is such a clean and simple card that when I got it this far, I just couldn't add any more to it! I think it just speaks for itself!

I highlighted a few of the words in the saying on this card by lightly underlining or scribbling over the word with my markers. It's hard to tell in this picture, but there is also some prisma glitter.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Petal, White Daisy (Close To My Heart)
Inks: Black Staz-On; Petal, Twilight, Heavenly Blue, Sunflower, Sweet Leaf (Exclusive Inks Markers from CTMH)
Prisma glitter

Birthday guesses

I'm enjoying all the guesses about the date of my birthday, and the comments, as well! Thank you all! Keep 'em coming. I'll take guesses for a few more days. If there are multiple correct guesses I will draw for the winner of the blog candy once I hit 1500 posts.

I love this season. Christmas is my favorite holiday and the fact that my birthday falls this month is great, too. I have a wonderful family who has made my birthday a special day every year - separate from other celebrations. People often ask if it's hard to have a birthday in December, but I've always enjoyed it. My favorite birthday cakes, however, were the ones my mom made and she placed a little plastic nativity scene on them. The cakes were always german chocolate with the coconut frosting. I still have that little nativity set, too.

Happy Holidays!

Celebrate the Season!

Another Snow Friends set! This one is done in Cranberry, Ponderosa Pine and the Creative Basics - Holiday striped paper.

These were stamped in black Staz-On, and colored with my CTMH markers.

We've had a little snow lately. In fact, I was just looking at the forecast, and it looks like we are expecting more! There's not a whole lot left on the ground this morning (warm wind during the night), so my kids will be happy if the forecast is right!

Today is the beginning of Advent, and I'll be busy this afternoon helping with the Advent Fair at the church. We invite families to come and put together advent wreaths - it's always a fun time.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock - White Daisy, Cranberry, Ponderosa Pine (Close To My Heart)
Pattern Paper - Creative Basics - Holiday Paper Packet (CTMH)
Inks - Black Staz-On, Exclusive Inks Markers (CTMH)
Accessories - Cranberry Grosgrain ribbon, colored staples (CTMH)
